What is the best marketing strategy for mobile applications?

As a manager of an IT company, I have had difficulties in identifying applicable marketing strategy for mobile applications. Now, after practising many methods in a different type of applications i have concluded these things are much more important for application marketing.

1. Identify what is your application type.

First, you need to identify in which category does the application fit.  In the Play store, there are categories such as entertainment, games, educational, utility, financial, sports, maps and GPS, business tools, shopping. All you need is to identify in which categories does it fit. Strategies can be made accordingly.

2. Know your audience.

The user's age group and their interest may vary from time to time according to their needs and desire. Having said that it is the first thing you should do is identify whom you are targeting in the first place. You should be confident about your user's interest.

3. Know where your targeted audience are engaged mostly.

Is it youtube that they spent most of the time or Is it the news portals.The time spent on social media
can be higher comparetively to those two. Research is required to know where their spend their time by going htrough journals and data available in internet.
